I’m Sébastien Hebert, a self-taught mixed-media artist and the maker behind The Quiet Maker.

I never learned to create by following rules. I learned by following curiosity.

My work often begins with an idea, a feeling, or sometimes simply a question. From there, I work intuitively with acrylic, plaster, texture and dimensional elements, letting the materials have a say in where we end up. The original idea may survive, disappear completely, or become something I never saw coming.

I don’t try to tell the viewer what a piece means. What I see in it belongs to me. What you see belongs to you.

When I create, everything else gets quiet. Time disappears. Thought gets out of the way. Somewhere between intention, instinct and probably changing my mind seventeen times, something begins to emerge.

That’s the space where I like to work.
